The Catholic Media Association is honored to sponsor the Gabriel Awards, a premier program honoring excellence in film, broadcast, and digital media productions released in the United States and Canada.
Gabriel Awards Finalists will be announced April 17.
The Gabriel Awards were created in 1965 to “recognize outstanding artistic achievement in a television or radio program or series that entertains and enriches with a true vision of humanity and true vision of life.”
A Gabriel-worthy award entry is dedicated to authenticity and excellence. It affirms and highlights values of dignity, community, tolerance, justice, or compassion.
The primary goal of the Gabriel Awards is to encourage media professionals to serve, enrich, challenge, and uplift their audiences.

This year’s Gabriel Awards Reception takes a leap forward in inspiration and celebration, welcoming Jim Wahlberg as our master of ceremonies. Jim brings a wealth of experience from both his personal life and his professional endeavors in faith-based filmmaking.
Jim aims to serve God by writing, speaking, filmmaking and serving our community. He serves as the executive director of the Mark Wahlberg Youth Foundation, which was created to improve the quality of life for inner-city youth through a working partnership with other youth organizations. He is a producer, writer, and director of films, and uses his talents and experiences to raise awareness about opioid addiction and point to the hope found in Christ. He is the author of The Big Hustle and Executive Producer of the number one documentary film, across all genres, of 2022 “Mother Teresa: No Greater Love.” Jim has been married to his lovely wife Benny for 30 years and they have three children.
As we gather to honor the finest in media, Jim’s presence and message will undoubtedly elevate our celebration, spotlighting the intertwining of faith, redemption, and the media’s role in shaping society.
