network with leading catholic media professionals

Grounded in the reach and rich history of the Catholic Press Association (CPA), the Catholic Media Conference grew out of the association's annual gathering. Built upon a solid foundation left to us by the powerful witness of Catholic newspapers, Catholic new media now includes more distribution channels and ways to engage audiences than ever. This includes newspaper, periodicals, radio, video, social and other forms of digital communication.

At the Catholic Media Conference, you'll find a variety of individuals that make up a growing community of Catholic journalists and communication professionals looking to learn from and be inspired by one another.

You will meet journalists, writers, photographers, videographers, social media managers, graphic designers, business leaders, marketing professionals, editors, communication directors, clergy and parish staff representing countless Catholic newspapers, diocesan offices of communication, national publications, media outlets, parishes and members of the freelance community. Some have five decades of professional experience behind them, and others have just started working three to five hours a week in a parish, trying to get the staff to expand their thinking beyond publishing the weekly bulletin.

We're finding new and unexpected individuals traveling to this conference every year, and invite you to become a part of this community dedicated to excellence and professionalism in the communication arts, as together we seek to boldly proclaim the Gospel as missionary disciples of Jesus Christ.

HEAR FROM national &

international SPEAKERS

As you will find on our speakers page, this conference seeks the best talent out there, people making a real difference through their work and witness to others through the effective use of Catholic media.

Speakers at past conferences have included Bishop Robert Barron, Michael O'Neill, Martin Scorsese, Sr. Helena Burns, fsp, and Father Thomas Rosica, CSB.

Pictured here is last year's keynote, Dr. Nataša Govekar, Director of the Department of Pastoral Theology, Vatican Secretariat for Communication. Dr. Govekar shared with us some of the behind-the-scenes strategies and insights that have helped make Pope Francis such a social media success.

Our commitment is to bring to you speakers who will have a lasting, positive impact on your day-to-day work and inspire you individually.

unite as one

in faith

One thing that sets us apart from many professional conferences is that we come together for one reason - Our love for Jesus and desire to follow Him in all that we are and do. A key part of our time together will be the opportunity for prayer.

At every conference, we gather for daily Mass provided by our local host diocese. You will find yourself among other heartfelt believers who support and encourage one another in prayer, both at the conference and beyond.

Where else can you go to find this type and quality of fellowship among Catholic media professionals?

have some

fun in the  sun!

If there was ever a better opportunity to travel to a great destination as part of this conference, it's this year!

We're grateful for the invitation by the Archdiocese of St. Petersburg to generously host the 2019 Catholic Media Conference!

As they say themselves, "St. Pete/Clearwater is one of those rare places that has both outstanding, and slightly quirky, attractions." Attractions include The Dali Museum and Chihuly Collection, as well as family-friendly places such as the tranquil Sunken Gardens, Florida Botanical Gardens, and popular Clearwater Marine Aquarium. If you're more adventurous, there's zip-lining above natural preserves or strapping on a jet pack at JetLev in the Gulf of Mexico, and beyond this, you're not that far from Busch Gardens, Universal Studios or the Disney Parks.

Regardless, if you're on a budget and looking for the beauty of life's simple pleasures, make some time to visit some of Florida's award-winning beaches in this area.

This June, there's plenty of opportunity for some fun in the sun!
